La Fashion Revolution ou comment repenser la mode #IMadeYourClothes

The Fashion Revolution or how to rethink fashion #IMadeYourClothes

La Fashion Revolution (@fash_rev) is an initiative to re-imagine a fair fashion system. The initiative also includes the #IMadeYourClothes movement aimed on the one hand at encouraging consumers to question who makes their clothes (and especially under what conditions) and on the other hand at pushing fast fashion companies to be more transparent. In a society of overconsumption, we are always led to consume more and keep our clothes for less time, which is not without serious consequences.

It only takes a simple Google search to understand the impact fashion has on the environment and the people who are exploited in the production process. The movement was launched following the collapse in 2013 of a garment factory in Bangladesh, killing more than 1,135 people.

At Belle + Rebelle, our goal is to encourage local and ethical fashion. This is why the vast majority of the companies we have in store manufacture their parts locally, in Quebec or in Canada. During your next visit to us, ask us the question:

“Who makes my clothes? »

The answer is here:

Fondatrice de Cossack.       Seamstress from Marigold.

Mother and seamstress of Mercedes Morin.

The team behind Melow.       Designer de Cokluch

Annie 50
