Inspiration: In Haudenosaunee culture, the creation of the Earth is told through the story of a woman who fell from the Celestial World and became Skywoman. At that time, the planet was nothing but an endless ocean. With the help of birds, she landed on the back of a giant turtle. With a little mud taken from the ocean floor, she sang and danced until a great land emerged: Turtle Island.
